Are you ready to swim with whale sharks in Cancun and join in on one of the world’s most stunning natural events?
Quintana Roo is one of the few privileged places in the world to welcome the largest fish in the ocean to its waters every year – the whale shark!
Whale Sharks have never harmed a human directly or indirectly. This wonderful animal can reach a length of 12m and the average is around 8m. It is an animal venerated by cultures around the world due to its incomparable beauty and gentleness, despite its enormous size.
This activity does not represent any danger and the sighting is 100% guaranteed.
The whale shark 2019 season runs from May 15th till September 15th.
Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation whether you are staying in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, or Tulum. The air conditioned and comfortable mini bus will then take you to the launch location (pier) where the boats are waiting for the adventure to begin!
Before boarding, you can enjoy a freshly prepared delicious continental breakfast. After breakfast you’ll start boarding the boat, and once boarded your guide will give a safety briefing in your preferred language. In general you can expect to enjoy a beautiful and scenic speedboat ride that takes about an hour to get to the where the Whale Sharks are located. Quite often guests spot dolphins and manta rays during the crossing not to mention flying fish that leap clear out of the water.
Sometimes the whale sharks are in the waters off of Isla Mujeres, or occasionally in Holbox but either way you will find them. Once you find the Whale Sharks, you’ll get into the water and snorkel with these majestic creatures for approximately three hours. The good news is that you won’t just be swimming with whale sharks in Cancun you will also encounter large manta rays, and if you are lucky maybe a curious dolphin or two.
The goal is for you, to receive total satisfaction & success which is why you´ll swim with the Whale Sharks as much as possible! You’ll stay in the Whale Shark watching area for approximately three hours.
After the whale shark tour has concluded, you´ll go snorkeling at a beautiful coral reef close to Isla Mujeres, and after that you´ll anchor in Playa Norte which has been named as one of the Most Beautiful Beaches in the World. Wading in the shallow waters of Isla Mujeres with ice cold refreshments and fresh ceviche is an unforgettable treat.
From Playa Norte you’ll return back to the pier in Cancun, where your guide and driver will bring you back to your hotel. Expect to arrive back to your hotels around 15:30 (for accommodation in Cancun) and 16:30 (for accommodation in the rest of the Riviera Maya).
