Quintana Roo is one of the few privileged places in the world to welcome the biggest fish in the ocean in its clear blue warm waters – the whale shark!
This wonderful animal can reach a length of 12m (40 ft) and the average is around 8m (26ft). It's an animal revered by cultures around the world due to its incomparable beauty and gentleness, despite its enormous size.
This activity does not represent any danger.
The pick-up time is at 6 a.m. at your hotel lobby or place of accommodation for Tulum, Playa del Carmen at 6:30 a.m. and for Cancun 7:30 a.m.
You will arrive to the Marina where you’ll register and enjoy a continental breakfast before taking the boat.
After breakfast, you will take the boat around 8:30 am to the east of the Caribbean Sea, behind Isla Mujeres to start the activity. A 50 minute boat ride aproximately.
Once you arrive at the feeding area we will spend around 2:30 hours snorkeling with the whale sharks. Each person would be able to do 2 or 3 jumps inside the water (depending the number of sharks in the area). Regulations asks for 2 people swimming per shark and always accompanied by a certified guide. With some luck, you might also swim with huge mantas!
After snorkeling with the whale sharks, you’ll snack on sandwiches and fruit while we head to the North beach of Isla Mujeres. Here you’ll be able to swim in these crystal clear waters and feast on delicious fresh fish ceviche, guacamole, fruit and chips.
You’ll arrive back at the Marina by around 2 pm and after that they will drop you off at your hotel or accommodation.

-06:30: Start of pickups in the lobby of your hotel in Playa del Carmen in an air-conditioned van.
-07:00: Start of pickups in the lobby of your hotel in Cancun.
-08:00: Arrival at the marina in Punta Sam and breakfast.
-08:40: Departure by boat from the marina to the whale shark area.
-09:30: Arrive to whale shark area.
-14:00: Arrival back to the Marina.
*Whale sharks are wild animals found in the open ocean, so we do our best to find them during our Expedition. However, there is a slight chance (5%) that the sharks are in deep water and may not be found. In this case, you can re schedule with no cost, or we can provide a certificate for you to use with no expiration date for a future date.

Where do we meet?
If you would like to arrive for yourself it's possible, you'll only need to ask for the location and we'll send it to you. Check inn is 8 am and there is a discount of $200 pesos less per person as you won't be needing transportation.
The pick-up time is 6 a.m. for Tulum at Super Aki Supermarket Parking lot for Tulum, Playa del Carmen 6:30 a.m. and for Cancun 7:30 a.m. at your Hotel's lobby or Airbnb (All the vehicles are comfortable, modern, and air-conditioned)
Requisites
Due to changes in the price of the dollar, we specify that after paying the 35% deposit through the website, the remaining amount to be paid per person in the marina will be $2000 pesos or its equivalent in dollars at the exchange rate of the day.
Recommendations
Not recommended for pregnant woman
Bring with you towels, wetsuit (if you have one), flip flops, sunglasses and a hat
In case that you want to swim without a life jacket, you have to bring a wetsuit or rent one for $15 dollars.
Bring a long sleeve t-shirt instead of any sun block
Help us protect our beautiful oceans by not wearing sunblock before swimming, unless it is reef safe and biodegradable – the chemicals damage the coral reef and sealife
Payment of the balance at the Marina can be in cash (USD, MXn or EUR). Card payments have a 6.5% bank comission fee

Wow!! This was an incredible excursion and one that my teenage boys are still talking about as being their favorite tour in Cancun! The NAW crew was professional, knowledgeable, and very engaging! We had the BEST time and I would highly recommend it as a one of a kind experience!!

Swimming with whale sharks was soooo much fun!! The captain and mate were very knowledgeable and entertaining as well! (: Not only did we swim with whale sharks but also manatees, saw dolphins and turtles and to top it off.. they fed us! What a great adventure!!! We will definitely be doing it again!!
