Kitesurfing is a new sport that has grown a lot in the last 20 years. To practice Kitesurfing the athlete will be standing on a board that is similar to a wakeboard or surf board and a kite that pulls the athlete over the water.

Before, Kitesurfing was an extreme sport, but in recent years more women and children began to learn the sport also because the equipment is getting better and safer.

The Riviera Maya has several places to practice Kitesurfing, some of these places are Playa del Carmen, Isla Blanca and El Cuyo.

The school where you will take the course is 10 minutes north of Playa del Carmen, in a 5-star hotel. The spot has shallow water and no waves, which makes it perfect for learning Kitesurf!

All instructors are IKO certified and speak perfect Spanish and English.

In your course you will follow the standards of an IKO course (International Kiteboarding Organization), specially designed to help you be a self-sufficient kitesurfer, control your kite, your board and navigate following the wind in safe conditions.

We have several courses, from Discovery to Advanced level. In this course you will reach the Advanced level.

Advanced - 9 hours - Become an expert and discover new possibilities!

Do you want to discover the incredible sport of kiteboarding? Your IKO instructor will introduce you to
the world of this sport and teach you several rules and safety systems on earth before entering the water, until becoming an independent kite rider.

You will learn to master the wind, how to handle the equipment and how to fly the kite for the first time in the water.

Then, you will test your skills and you will know the full potential of the wind. You'll learn to control the kite with several exercises. You will perform "body drag" (basic exercise to control the power of the comet) in all directions, recover the kite in the water, self-rescue, recover the table, you will make your first "water starts" (go up in the table) and control the strength of the kite with one hand.

Your instructor will teach you to navigate in both directions. How to navigate downwind and upwind (against wind).

Finally you will deepen your kite knowledge and you will continue practicing how to get up on the board. You will focus on your abilities, such as controlling speed and changing direction without stopping.

All our packages consist of blocks of 3 hours of kite for 3 days. The total time in which an average student takes to navigate and master the wind safely is 9 hours.
